鏡片上的鍍膜，如有受損而影響畫質，解決的方法，除了直接換新鏡片之外，唯一之道就是讓鏡片接受鍍膜的拋磨拋光處理。
鍍膜的拋磨拋光處理，是一種高端的鏡頭維修。 這種處理只會將有鍍膜受損的那一面的鍍膜拋除，其他片鏡片是不需要處理的。
鏡片的鍍膜，會因為以下原因而受損
- 鏡片發霉的侵蝕
- 鍍膜變質老化產生的霧化
- 不當清潔擦拭 或 受外力損傷
拋磨拋光處理，原則上是只將鍍膜拋除，而不拋磨鏡片玻璃本身。
如果傷痕，是穿透鍍膜深及玻璃，在這種情況，傷痕是不能完全清除的，因為如果把玻璃的傷痕都拋除掉，鏡片的曲度會改變，進而影響光的路徑，會使得成像品質受到嚴重影響。
請別問我鏡頭在拋磨拋光處理後，跟原本完好的鏡頭之間會有什麼差異，原則上，這個問題是沒有邏輯性的，因為不會有人會拿一顆無損的鏡頭來將鍍膜拋除。 鏡頭之所以會需要接受這種處理，大都是因為鏡頭的鍍膜已經嚴重受傷，使得畫質受損。這樣的鏡頭，算是死馬，大多數人是不會帶支死馬出門拍照。拋磨拋光處理是將死馬當活馬醫，讓鏡頭恢復到可用、畫質可被接受的狀態。
如果說原本無損的鏡頭的畫質是100分，鍍膜嚴重受損的鏡頭的畫質可能是40~50分，拋磨拋光處理後的畫質，至少會在90~99分之間。
90~99分之間的差異，可能來自於拋磨拋光的面的數量、原本損傷的程度等，不過，在處理過後的鏡頭的畫質，最少都是可被接受的，不會再有白霧霧的畫質！
鍍膜受損程度較輕微的，在處理過後，鏡片玻璃可以恢復乾淨通透無暇。
損傷較嚴重者，連玻璃都有傷，在處理過後，鏡片玻璃可以恢復乾淨通透，但玻璃仍會有輕微傷痕，這是無可避免的，也不會影響畫質。
鍍膜拋磨拋光處理，費時耗工，費用相對高。 值不值得處理，除了要看鏡頭的價值之外，最重要的是要看個人對鏡頭的感情而定。
